Assistant (e) Communication
The International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) is the only independent intergovernmental science and technology based organization which promotes knowledge of refrigeration and associated technologies that improve quality of life in a cost-effective and environmentally sustainable manner including:
- Food quality and safety from farm to consumer
- Comfort in homes and commercial buildings
- Health products and services
- Low temperature technology and liquefied gas technology
- Energy efficiency
- Use of non-ozone depleting and low global warming refrigerants in a safe manner.
The position will consist in implementing, together with the IIR team, the communication strategy to help gain wider recognition by the Refrigeration industry and the various refrigeration sector stakeholders in general.
Main targets: public at large, publishers of scientific and technical journal in refrigeration fields, IIR members and potential members.
More specifically she/he will be in charge of activities related to:
- Writing work: Promotion of the new IIR’s Web portal and new on-line services, Produce or contribute to the production of official IIR documents (e.g. IIR promotion documents, IIR Publication catalogue, IIR reports, website texts, newsletter of the IIR, position papers & press releases), in coordination with the relevant issue managers.
- Overall support to external relations activities: press releases, Customer database maintenance, and administrative tasks.
- Graduate in communication
- Native English speaker and a very good knowledge of French (or very strong speaking and writing skills both in English & French). Other languages are asset.
- Excellent writing and communications skills; ability to communicate scientific issues to the public
- Graphic design skills desired; experience in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator
- Ability to deal with industry-related topics, particularly in the HVAC&R areas.
- Team player, with an open and international mind set
- Competent in IT office packages including web management tools and social media.
